Paul W. Reid, VP National Accounts - Investigations, of Signum Corporate Services Inc was originally licensed as a Private Investigator in the Province of Ontario in 1976. Joining an international reporting firm, Mr. Reid became responsible for the "hands on" investigation of insurance claims. For three years he worked exclusively with Life Insurers in Metropolitan Toronto dealing specifically with Disability Claim fraud. Mr. Reid has completed courses in surveillance and investigation techniques and has been responsible for initiating training, upgrading programs and investigation manuals. He has an extensive background in managing special task force groups and regional investigation offices, and regularly conducts seminars on the efficient use of investigation firms. Since founding Signum in 1984, Mr. Reid has been consulting with the major Property, Casualty, and Disability Insurers in Ontario, in addition to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. He is a member of the Council of Private Investigators of Ontario, the Global Investigation Network, the Council of International Investigators, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the International Association of Arson Investigators, and the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators. Since the acquisition of Signum Investigations by Garda in February 2006, Mr. Reid has been occupying the position of Vice-president, National Accounts and is responsible for the business development of investigations sector in the Ontario market.
